13 (UDA) United Democratic Alliance fans who were arrested in a Homa Bay based hotel for convening a meeting on Friday, contrary to COVID-19 protocols, have today been arraigned at the Homa Bay Law courts.

The accused individuals who appeared before the Homa Bay Principal Magistrate Joy Wesonga, were charged of engaging in a prohibited political gathering.

The thirteen (UDA) supporters who got arrested on Friday, August 27, 2021 in Homa Bay town pleaded guilty of their offences and were fined Sh 2,000 Kenyan money or a jail term of one month each respectively.

The 13 supporters asked for forgiveness, saying they were very sorry for what they had done that day.

In her ruling, Magistrate Wesonga said that failure to pay the fine shall lead to a jail term of one month each. They have been given fourteen days to file an appeal.
